BROWNIES (from Millie Schembechler)

1 box German chocolate cake mix
1 stick butter (melted)
1/3 c. evaporated milk
1 c. chopped nuts (optional---I don't like them!)
50 (1 pkg.) Kraft caramels (unwrapped)
1/3 c. of evaporated milk
1 pkg. (6oz.) chocolate chips

Mix together the first 4 ingredients in a bowl. Divide in half. Press 1/2 of the mixture down flat into a greased (9x12 inch) pan. Bake at 350° for 7-10 minutes. Melt caramels with milk while the above is baking, on low to medium speed, stirring often. When the above is out of the oven, pour the melted caramels over the cake. Top with chocolate chips and then crumble the remaining cake mixture over the top. Return to the oven and bake at 375° for 12-15 minutes. Cool, cut the brownies into squares and eat them!
