An Apple Cinnamon French Toast recipe that is great to make for breakfast, brunch, holidays or special ocassions...every day can be a special occasion!
HOLIDAY MORNING FRENCH TOAST (Janet’s)
1 c. dark brown sugar, packed
1/2 c. butter, melted
3 t. cinnamon, divided
3 Granny Smith apples, peeled, cored and thinly sliced
1/2 c. dried cranberries or raisins
1 loaf Italian or French bread, cut in 1 inch slices
1 1/2 c. milk
1 T. vanilla extract
Combine brown sugar, butter and 1 t. cinnamon in (9x13 inch) pan. Add apples and cranberries, toss to combine well and spread evenly onto the bottom of the pan. Arrange bread slices on top. Mix eggs, milk, vanilla and the remaining cinnamon til well blended. Pour over bread evenly. Cover with aluminum foil and refrigerate for 4-24 hours. Bake 375° for 40 minutes, uncover and bake 5 minutes more. Let stand 5 minutes before serving.
