GORGONZOLA SPREAD LIKE THE FRENCH LAUNDRY RESTAURANT IN FENTON (Lynn’s)
3 oz. cream cheese
1 oz. Gorgonzola, cheese
2 strips apple wood smoked bacon or 1 strip thick sliced, cooked and diced
3 green onions, green part only, cut on the diagonal
2 T. apricot preserves
dash cayenne pepper
Mix the cream cheese, Gorgonzola cheese, applewood smoked bacon, green onion, apricot preserves and cayenne pepper together and refrigerate overnight so the flavors can marry together. Let the apricot Gorgonzola spread set to room temperature before serving.
Lucy called in and said she used Sun Maid California apricots and diced 2 into small chunks. And she used only 1 T. of the preserves.
Donna called and said that the restaurant also adds some minced jalapeno pepper to the Gorgonzola spread!
