7-UP POUND CAKE (Lucy's)

1 1/2 c. butter
3 c. sugar
5 eggs
3 c. flour
2 T. lemon or vanilla extract
3/4 c. 7-Up

Preheat oven 325°. Grease and flour a (12 cup) fluted bundt pan. Cream sugar and butter til light and fluffy. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Add flour and beat well. Add extract and 7-Up. Pour into bundt pan and bake 1 hour-1 hour and 15 minutes til it tests done with a toothpick inserted into the center. Cool in pan for 20 minutes then invert onto a serving platter to cool completely. Dust with powdered sugar if desired.
