1 3/4 c. boiling water
1 c. rolled oats
1 c. packed brown sugar
1 c. white sugar
1/2 c. butter
2 eggs
1 3/4 c. all purpose flour
1 t. baking soda
1 T. unsweetened cocoa powder
1/2 t. salt
1 c. semi-sweet chocolate chips
1/2 c. chopped walnuts

Mix water and oatmeal in mixing bowl and let sit 10 minutes. Add sugars, butter or margarine and eggs. Mix well. Add flour, baking soda, cocoa and salt. Blend. Pour into a greased and floured (10x15x1 inch) jelly roll pan. Top with chocolate chips and chopped nuts. Bake in a preheated 350° F. (175° C.) oven for 20 minutes.
