ORIENTAL DRESSING LIKE LELANAU SANDS RESORT RESTAURANT (Gloria Pitzer)
1/2 c. water
1/2 c. white vinegar
2 T. soy sauce
2 T. sugar
2 T. dark molasses
Run all ingredients briefly through blender to combine or whip together with wire whisk. Refrigerate dressing tightly capped to use in few weeks or freeze to use in several months.
(makes about 1 1/3 cup)
Use a mixture of torn fresh spinach leaves, iceberg lettuce in bite-sized pieces, a few pieces grated red cabbage, a little fresh grated carrot, chopped walnuts and sliced almonds, some dried Michigan cherries or raisins, canned Mandarin orange sections, well drained and chow mein noodles.
