FUDGE CAKE DESSERT LIKE MACHUS RESTAURANTS (Gloria Pitzer)
Prepare a box of Duncan Hines Brownie Mix, following the directions for the "Cake like Brownies". Cut into 2 inch squares and serve with scoop of vanilla ice cream atop each square and cover in fudge sauce.
Into the top of a double boiler, over simmering water, put 1 can (14 oz.) sweetened condensed Eagle Brand Milk, 14 oz. light Karo syrup, 1/4 lb. stick butter or margarine and 1 bag (12 oz.) Nestles Semi-Sweet Chocolate Morsels. Stir over the simmering water til melted and smooth. While still over simmering water use a portable electric mixer to beat fudge sauce about 2 minutes til thickened and smooth. (The longer it remains over the simmering water, the more the sauce will thicken.) If necessary, dilute to a pouring consistency by beating in enough prepared hot black coffee to reach the desired consistency.
