APPLE BREAD (Helen's)
1/2 c. margarine
2 c. all purpose flour
1 c. sugar
2 eggs, beaten
1 t. vanilla
2 c. pie apples, peeled, cored and chopped
1 t. baking soda dissolved in 2 T. sour milkAPPLE BREAD TOPPING:
4 T. flour
4 T. sugar
1 1/2 t. cinnamon
4 T. melted butter
Mix all ingredients well.
Mix the margarine and sugar. Add eggs and vanilla. Add flour and milk mixture alternately. Stir in apples. Place in a greased (5x8 or 5x9 inch) loaf pan. Spread with topping. Bake 350° for 1 hour or til it tests done. Freezes well.
