Stop serving that can of cranberry jelly sauce stuff as a holiday side dish. Make a relish featuring fresh cranberries, apples and walnuts with a hint of orange zest. It will not only taste better, it will look better too.


1 c. raw cranberries, coarsely ground
1 c. sweet apples, peeled and diced
1/4 c. chopped walnuts
3/4 c. sugar
juice and zest of 1 orange

Mix all relish ingredients together. Chill for several hours. Serve the relish as a side dish.
